Waiting for it to boil.
I took a "stay-cation" today.
I baked cookies with my new mixer (YUMMMM).
Danced around the apartment.
I crocheted a scarf (pictured).
Watched some of the bad movies in my small collection.
P.S. My texting limit has recently gone up, so text away!

Fröhliche Weihnachten!
Tonight was full of laughs. My cheeks hurt!
Grandma started off trying to tell us a Christmas story about a "silver pine cone." It somehow ended up going horribly wrong when she forgot the story half-way through and started improvising. Her new version included virgins and magic beans.
Don't worry, this was all documented in video, soon to be posted.

Oh family.
Most of my time today has been spent either baking Slovak cookies with my Aunt, or letting my Grandma in on what she missed while she was in the hospital.
It's pretty strange talking to a person who pretty much fell of the face of the planet for 5 months.
Right now, my Dad is crushing my Aunt in Scrabble.
He has all the “S” and blank tiles, while my Aunt has all the “O” tiles-- harsh.
The General (my cat) received an elf costume today. He has been sporting the holly-wreath necklace pretty proudly, but the green pointed hat came off hours ago.
Pictures coming soon.

Feed me knowledge...
I have decided that in the next few months I am going to splurge on additions to my library. With help from AbeBooks.com, I hope to acquire the following books:
--Freakonomics: A Rouge Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
By Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner
--Naked Lunch
By William Burroughs
--Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim
David Sedaris
--Running with Scissors
Augusten Burroughs
--Buyology: Truth and Lies About Why We Buy
Martin Lindstrom
and any books on Guerrilla Marketing...
...this is just a few, the list grows every-other day.
Any book suggestions?

Duke of Monte Carlo
I am highly unaware that the Holidays are upon us.
All I'm able to tell is that people are a little more frazzled, and the environment at work has become increasingly more annoying (I never knew that there were so many elevator versions of 'White Christmas').
I've recently become more comfortable talking to people openly about my Mom. She was a fascinating woman, and I love telling stories about her. After divulging some fun facts about her to the ladies at work, they decided I need to write a book. In particular, about a certain love affair she had in the 70s.
I hope to have a book together by the end of 2009.
P.S.
Traffic is a bane on my existence.

And I am home"

Times VI
I've started naming certain blog postings "Times #"
Each one of these posts contain a point in time in a certain song that I love.
(They will usually be breakdowns, since the majority of what I listen to is hardcore, but there is not much I can do about that.)
This is partially for me to remember, but partially for you, so you can understand me a little better.
'Cause, if you can't say it, say it through music, right?
Caustic Christ- "Destructive and Desperate"
Minutes:
1:28-1:48
Fact: Caustic Christ was the first punk show I went to. You're jealous.

Lost and Found
Last night I went to a dance party, my first. It was fun!
There will be much more dancing in my future.
I lost the key that I wear around my neck for an hour today at work. I couldn't breathe.
I always new I was attached, just never to this extent.
This key means so much to me that I could never put it in words.
I guess it really is the key to my heart.

Today marked the end of classes for the 2008 Fall semester!

I am so stoked on having time to do what I want. I already sewed a bit today, i've missed it.

TCB
I think I'm going to be productive- A huge Salvation Army donation is in order. (I never thought that loosing weight would be annoying, congrats life- you're funny.)
Other than that, I really miss embroidering.
I drew up some lettering for "High Hopes" that looks tight. Now I just have to figure out what to sew it on!
Days seem so much better then you expect the worst, but get the best.
P.S. Goodbye Mr. Philly, it's been nice.
...It just sucks that there is already a song that reminds me of you.

The Verdict:
One of the best shows I've been to; except they didn't play nearly long enough. Boo.
Bagel Czar is dumb for not having bands play on the STAGE.
It's always interesting to me to go to different genera shows, it makes this town feel bigger than it is.
Going alone was actually really awesome. I realize that, having lived here for close to 4 years, there is bound to be someone I know there. Which, is a pretty awesome realization in itself.
In other news:
Cannabis Corpse is ridiculous, in a good way

I feel like I can conquer the world.

ANNIHILATE!!!
I have been waiting to see Annihilation Time since before No Way Fest '08 (stupid work). My fist impression of them made me imagine driving around in a beat-up El Camino in the middle of Summer in some forgotten suburb. They are the ultimate cruising music, there is no denying that. Granted, they are completely opposite of my straight edge morals, but I can't help loving them.
I am also planning on going to the show alone. I'm wanting to test out how comfortable I am in my own skin. A lot of things have changed in the past year-

Make a Circuit with Me
Work didn't blow as hard as I thought it would today- I sold $2,870...
Which is good since I had a $1,900 return on Wednesday, ughhhh!
I love the girls that I work with. There is nothing better then 'Dumb and Dumber' quotes to make a Black Friday actually fun.
The Polar Express is on the tube. That book rang in the holiday season every year for me when I was little. Tom Hanks just doesn't do it for me though.
Cornbread.
Mix tapes.

I had forgotten how awesome River City Rebels are live.
Fun fun night all around.
It's 3am and I have to get up at 8 to pack and hit the road for D.C.
I am so ready for a dose of family, and good food.
It's been so long since i've gotten the chance to just get in the car and drive. I am looking forward to an hour and 45 minute adventure full of my sick driving play list, scenery, and a sleeping kitty (hopefully!).
Have a Happy Turkey/ Tofurky Day!

A large portion of my free time is spent blaring music and jumping around my apartment. I suppose I've hit one of those points where music effects you a little more than it used to.
River City Rebels tonight!
This will be the first show that I have attended by my lonesome.
We shall see how it goes!

Ride Wit Me
New observations:
- Dark Knight rules, hard.
- I forgot how loud my Straight Edge watch is
- Never take electricity for granted, or microwaves
- Cro Mag's album Revenge is the worst thing i've ever heard, I will not acknowledge it
- I find it funny that my most noteworthy feature is my laugh, yet i'm really self-conscience of it
- My thug points are slippin', I need to own a crunk cup
- Ross sells crunk cups, go figure...
- The Meteors- Breaking the Law (genius)
- Vitamins do a world of good
- And lastly, girls just want to have fun.

"Dry-umph"
D.C. bound.
I made a playlist for the drive, which i've included some of my forgotten old punk stuff. I was trying to get some good songs for it, but I laughed out loud when "Triumph" by Generation X came on...
During the chorus,"And he'll triumph," it kinda sounds more like "And he'll dry hump."
I forgot about that, good times.

Refuse to Lose
It's so awesome watching peoples faces at shows.
After waiting 2 hours through shitty rock bands, Cold World got on stage.
All of us, grasped to every note they played in the warm up, trying to catch the opening riff to that song we've waited all night to see.
Everyone's faces show the wheels trying to pair each note with the right song.
Amazing.
Amazing.
I was on stage and danced my cute little self with every down beat.
Lovin' it.

Evil Wasn't So Evil
Yesterday was Set to Explode's last show :(
The show started at 2, which apparently means 4:30pm DC time.
At around 7pm Iron Age went on, I had been antisipating it for like 3 weeks now...
Bobby told us that they were really good at Youngblood Fest the day before...
Stoked.
They went on, no one really went crazy, I guess DC doesn't get it- thats ok.
Then Evil Ways came on, my song, the hardest one-
Evil Ways has a rough breakdown towards the end that just makes you want to die, well, yesterday it wasn't there.
They skimmed over it!
No heavy drum beats, not demonic guitar, no solid bass... nothing.
I knew Daniel was pissed, he had taken off his glasses to go dance so I took them, then gave them back after the song saying:
"I thought you were going to dance?"
he said "Me too."
Bummer.
Over all it was an okay show, but my favorite set was from Broken Bodies- a little kid band that was really into it and had their shit together.
Right on.

Codes and shows
As of late, I have been occupied with large amounts of :
marketing campaigns,
Netflix,
my kitty,
organizing,
fixing up my car,
making money to pay for my car,
lots of confusion,
and
writing in code on the sides of my class notes. I can't even read the code 5 minutes later because I've forgotten what it meant but it feels calming to write out my secrets.

Sleep falls on deaf ears.
My blog is the brain child of 1:08am and boredom-
Maybe its because I ignored my alarm for 2 luxurious hours
or
Maybe it is the dark chocolate M&Ms
or
the iPod sitting on my coffee table with all the Offices I haven't viewed yet-
but sleep is not hiding under my eyelids.
